It is amazing what a tortoise can do…
one step at a time!

Hi! This is Kathi Motlow, and I should know. My life went from one of being on the go, always busy…moving at the speed of lightening, filling my days with endless 'to do' lists…to being knocked off my feet with all the symptoms of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

"Wow! I went from hare to tortoise within a year,
from walking a marathon one year to lying flat in bed the next!"

Does this sound familiar?
This illness catapults you from the world you knew into a whole other dimension.  Huge changes!

Oh, yes! I am still tempted…even sometimes try…to act like a hare, hopping from one activity to the next, here and there, in a dither.  It is challenging to live in a society that values the multi-tasker, the over-acheiver. My body, however, is faithful to inform me that my lifestyle is more peacefully lived as a tortoise.

The whimsical image of the tortoise is a friendly reminder that I can totally accept myself and give myself permission to go slow and steady.

You really aren't running a race anymore BUT, you still do want to live from a place of energy.  You might be saying "I want my life back." I know I did.

You want to get back to normal.  But…
• How well did the old 'normal' work for you?
• Is there possibly something better for us?
• Maybe a new 'normal?"
• What would that look like?

Whatever state you are in, you can begin to create your own new normal. You can live intentionally. Everyday we have choice. We can not change yesterday. We can not live in tomorrow.
